I’m a San Francisco resident, having moved to the city in 2003 with my partner (now husband) Cody Elkin. Since 2007 I’ve had the privilege of serving as Financial Officer of the Lazy Bear Fund, a non-profit, 501c3 organization dedicated to raising funds for health and health-education programs through bear-focused events. To date, the Lazy Bear Fund has raised over $1.6 million through events like Lazy Bear Weekend and Lazy Bear Holiday.
I’ve also been a member of the Bears of San Francisco since 2005, and served on the 2008 committee to help organize the extraordinary International Bear Rendezvous. Along with Cody, I’ve helped to raise funds for a number of organizations, including PAWS (Pets are Wonderful Support), Lavender Seniors of the East Bay, the 2009 Lambda Gay Prom and, of course, the Lazy Bear Fund. I’ve also volunteered at the San Francisco headquarters of the “No on Prop 8” campaign last year.
Originally from Philadelphia, I’m currently a national account executive with the San Francisco Chronicle and SFGate.com. Cody and I live in the Sunset District of the city with Winston, our jack Russell terrorist, and Howie, the world’s most spoiled dog.
