The ‘Hans Payan Art Gallery’ is having an exhibition;

‘Experimenting with Bears’

“A homoerotic show about the beauty of the husky man and his body”

The Crying Game

Where? At our gallery in Montrose; 2016 Dunlavy St. Houston TX.77006

When? On Saturday, July 25th the gallery will open from 6:00PM until midnight. Guests can come in anytime within these hours. Food and drinks will be served. We anticipate a big crowd between 8:00PM-10:00PM.

Who is the artist? Hans Payan, who started creating this collection early this year in Istanbul and continued in his studio here in Houston,.

What is the theme? ‘Experimenting with Bears’ is a mix of mediums and styles such as pragmatic realism, modern cubism, as well as Hans’s vision of impressionism and a bit of the classical Spanish approach. It aims to evoke the bear movement and culture in the gay community worldwide. Bears are described as husky, hairy and masculine men that are gay but do not stereotypically act as such. Bear men are all around us, they are invisible to most people as gay men because they do not fit the typecast of what most people assume is ‘queer.’ Bears are Bears!

In addition to Hans’s work, we will have a few art pieces from other gay artists in the back of the gallery. All paintings will be available for purchase.

This Exhibit will be available to the public, by appointment only, between the opening date until October 7.
